I hope the purpose of this post wasn't lost in translation, "inauguration." It's not so much that Blogger is awful for business, but instead the hosted portion is lacking in features in comparison to a full-fledged blogging software like WordPress. I thought I made that clear in my post.

I'm curious why you think content is an SEO myth? And are you aware of the SEO-related plugins WordPress offers? Like SEO Pack, Google XML sitemaps, etc? Blogger or Blogspot doesn't offer anywhere near the functionality of these plugins.

By the way, Google doesn't offer free domains. They will transfer your Blogspot blog to your domain, but that's it. The host is still Blogger and so is the software. You will always be tied in, and it will always be controlled.

That's why I prefer open-source, community driven software like WordPress. Having experienced both, my humble opinion is there is no comparison. On a side note, I find it interesting that your example is ranking because of backlinks from a WP blog. Check the SE links, they're riddled with irony.

Interesting post and you raised valid points. Fortunately most readers will assume what you wrote as an absolute and move on to the next seo myth like content is king.

The fact is Google owns many applications online and now offline; Android G1.

This shows that they have always thought outside of the box/blog and as a result, ten years on they pretty much own the web.

Blogger offers custom domains which you probably know, where you bring them your domain name and they provide free hosting.

No subdomain like blogspot.com

As for seo suicide, blogger is no worst than WP with all the added plugins and updates.

Blogger also has comment moderation features among others, etc.

Take a look at this SERPS for the keywords make money
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=make+money&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

it's a blogger blog, because on page seo has little to do with off page seo strategies like link building and anchor text.

But provided, the myths remain rampant such as blogger is awful for business, then the smart business people will continue to be a minority yet continue to dominate the SEs while the majority complain and look to credible gurus and SEO authorities who get rich off of their followers ignorance.
