Twitter Working Harder For Online Businesses

10254349-businesses-are-making-big-money-marketing-on-twitterIn hopes to get off the Twitter growth plateau, the microblogging company is expanding it’s services to help online stores connect with their customers even more.  It seems nearly all online businesses have links encouraging you to follow the company on their social networking sites.

Twitter is launching a new API, which will allow anyone to sign up for a Twitter account from a third party application or website.  The new feature will allow anyone to watch Twitter conversations between the company and customers in real time on their sites.

Citysearch has become the first website to use the new Twitter feature.  Businesses with a Citysearch account, can display their Tweets from their profile, allowing anyone to tweet right from their profile.

“Potential customers can make smarter decisions with the fresh information being shared with them in real time, and businesses can manage closer connections with audiences across the Web,” says Twitter’s blog

This tool is likely to be a positive push for companies that have not yet jumped on the Twitter bandwagon.
