WordPress Is Like Your Furry, Loyal Companion

WordPress is your buddy and ready to go on an adventure with you into the world of ecommerce. This web design and development platform is kind of like a loyal dog who is ready to fetch traffic for you and be your companion through the daily ups and downs of your online business. But don’t worry, he will see you through.

Like a playful pup, WordPress is easy to enjoy. Any business owner can quickly become an expert in WordPress. WordPress is always ready to play, just like a furry companion. With the intuitive design of WordPress, you can play around with the software and create pages, categories, choose your theme, and more.

Needing to fetch traffic? WordPress is ready to go after those customers like a dog goes after his or her favorite toys. With its responsive design, WordPress will be showing up where your customers like to shop, such as their favorite mobile devices. You don’t have to create different websites for different devices with WordPress.

Your WordPress website may start out as a small pup, but it is ready to grow into a big and powerful dog. Using WordPress web design means that the site can easily grow as your business grows. You can add literally thousands of pages or posts to the website and it will perform just as well. If you plan on growing your business in the future, this is a must.

Going into the world of ecommerce can be a little scary, so you might want to have a loyal companion by your side who is ready to guide you every step of the way. Your WordPress buddy may have virtual fur, but he is there to fetch, play, and explore with you.

Professional WordPress Web Design Can Help You Rank On Google

googleGetting your website to show up on Google is something that is extremely important to ensuring that your business is successful. This is why most people who do online marketing, look carefully at Google guidelines to make sure that all of the requirements for ranking on Google are ones that their website meets easily. Some of Google’s most recent preferences are actually something that is built into the way that your website was designed. If the website doesn’t meet these new preferences, it could be losing out in Google rankings to competitors that do.

Google has recently begun to take a greater look at certain aspects of website design and is basing rankings partially on different aspects of web design. Most of what Google is looking for breaks down to its desire to rank faster and more secure websites that can be used on any device.   They are looking at all the different pieces that make a website one that they would really like to promote.

The key to making your website into one that is appealing to Google is working on the web design. Google is now factoring in aspects of your website like load time throughout your website. In addition to this aspect, they are focused on highly ranking websites that are formatted with a responsive design that can be accessed with ease from any device. Also important is the security of the website itself. Having a website that is not an HTTPS site, is something that is starting to cost websites when it comes to ranking and even to turn customers away since Google often lists if a site is not secure.

Building your website to meet these specifications is something that is becoming increasingly important. If you are working with a new business or are planning to rebuild your website to help meet these requirements, finding professional WordPress web design may be a good place to start. You want to make sure that the people who build your website are ones who are factoring in Google’s newest preferences.

New Touches to Twitter This Year

Picture 5-28-2015Just like any other social network, Twitter has been trudging along and updating its features to ensure that it remains competitive and provides its users with the best experience that they can possibly offer. Over the course of this year, Twitter has launched a number of features and services to enhance the overall Twitter experience. Earlier this year, Twitter launched a service for brands and celebrity users called TweetDeck Teams, which is intended to allow multiple people to tweet from a singular account. This service is intended to make it easier for team members to work together on Twitter.

Another service that Twitter launched back in February was an official WordPress plug-in that would allow Twitter to interact smoothly with the popular website and blog development tool. Although many Twitter-related plug-ins had been developed over the years for WordPress, this was the first official one released, intended to make it easier for visitors to tweet WordPress posts, embed tweets, and track ads for those running Twitter Ad campaigns on their WordPress blogs.

Updates to the interface of Twitter itself have also come up from time to time over the course of the year thus far. For instance, Twitter gave users the ability to easily embed Twitter videos on other websites back in March. Then, in April, Twitter began testing targeted advertisements that would appear directly on user profiles, with a ‘Suggested by Twitter’ tag. This is an effort to continue monetizing Twitter and making it profitable, while still being able to provide it to users as a free service.

iePlexus Web Design and Development

iePlexus Web Design & DevelopmentWe didn’t start iePlexus as a web design and development firm. In fact, we had little intention of doing any serious website building beyond what our marketing programs called for when the company began. Web 2.0 Marketing and Social Media Advertising has always been our concentration, and its definitely where we feel we can serve our customers best. However, web design and development has always been an important part of an effective marketing program, and naturally some of our clients have come to us to help them with their web presence along with their exposure. Like a strong foundation, good design and development can enable a website to reach maximum potential. Even the most effective of marketing campaigns can sputter and cease if you don’t have a site that looks great, makes conversions, and is search and social media friendly.

With that being said, we’ve been doing web design and development as an a la cart service for clients since we rebuilt our own site back in early 2008. It makes sense that our customers who are really serious about their business and want the greatest potential to succeed would want a comprehensive, professional web presence from reputable, capable company, and that’s exactly what we offer. We can provide every service necessary to facilitate all aspects of an online business, and we’re proud of our work. Obviously, we will always specialize in marketing and continue to advance our Web 2.0 programs as the most important service offering, but along with that we want clients to know we have the tools, skills and experience to handle all facets of an online business.

Featured Content Gallery Passes 50,000 Downloads

fcg_wpBack in January of 2009, iePlexus became the new developers of the Featured Content Gallery WordPress Plugin. We were excited to become part of the WordPress development community and certainly had big plans for the plugin. Since that time, 4 months ago, the Featured Content Gallery has become one of the most popular WordPress plugins to date and has accrued over 50,000 downloads from the WordPress plugin repository. We’ve made significant updates and improvements to the plugin since taking over the reigns, and have created a website, instructional video and support forum dedicated to the plugin. We will continue to manage, maintain and upgrade the plugin so it can continue to be a free, useful application for anyone who wants to utilize it on their WordPress website.

The Featured Content Gallery is a WordPress plugin that creates an automated, rotating image gallery anywhere withing a WordPress site. Based on a MooTools gallery script, the plugin is able to display an image attached to a post or page within a WordPress site and display it automatically wherever the gallery code is entered. The plugin is very popular with many high-quality WordPress themes, including premium WordPress themes from StudioPress, where the FCG is commonly included in new theme releases. It was added to the WordPress repository in February of 2009 and has consistently been one of the most popular plugins, averaging over 500 downloads per day. The Featured Content Gallery plugin page on WordPress has all the information for the plugin, including the download, description, installation, screenshots and more.

iePlexus Becomes New Developers of the Featured Content Gallery WordPress Plugin

I’m happy to announce that iePlexus is now part of the WordPress development community. As of today, the Featured Content Gallery plugin, a popular WordPress plugin originally developed by Jason Schuller of Revolution Two, has changed hands and will now be hosted, maintained, supported, and developed by iePlexus. Along with this transition comes a significant update to the plugin, a new plugin website and support forum, and a fresh take on where the plugin can be taken in the future. Here at iePlexus we are very proud to be chosen for this responsibility, and we’re excited to positively contribute to the WordPress and Revolution community. We look forward to providing an excellent plugin and support system, as well as a smooth transition between Revolution Two and iePlexus.

About the Featured Content Gallery Plugin:
The Featured Content Gallery is a WordPress plugin that creates a customizable rotating image gallery anywhere within a WordPress site. The plugin has the ability to display either post or pages, and automatically rotates images associated with these in a gallery that includes a thumbnail carousel and text overlay. The gallery is completely customizable, allowing the user to specify the size, color and pages or posts included in the gallery, as well as custom thumbnail images and custom overlay text. Originally transformed into a WordPress plugin by Jason Schuller of Revolution Two, the Featured Content Gallery was developed from SmoothGallery, a javascript gallery created by JonDesign. The plugin is frequently included in some of the best premium WordPress themes available today, namely those found on the Revolution Two site managed by Brian Gardner.

Thanks For WordPress 2.7

Happy Thanksgiving from iePlexus! In the spirit of giving thanks, and as a bit of an early Christmas present, I thought I’d give a little sneak peek into something that’s been a long time coming. Our favorite blog development platform, WordPress, is on the verge of releasing the most recent upgrade, WordPress 2.7. This version includes some serious improvements to the open-source application that has quickly dominated the blog development community and continues to grow its market share. More than ever, WordPress has transformed from a simple publishing platform into a dynamic, powerful content management system.

Business Blogs Deserve Better than Blogspot.com

Warning SignsLet me preface this post by saying I’m a big fan of Google and their online applications. Even Blogger, their online blogging software has its benefits, to some extent. Also, although my company offers business blogs as a service, this post is not about my company or our services, it’s about making the right business decision when it comes to implementing a business blog. An online business deserves every opportunity to become as successful as possible, and Blogspot.com just doesn’t offer the kind of support, services and features that are necessary to get the most out of this marketing device. I’m also not stating these reasons because I have studied other people’s experiences. I myself blogged for over three years using the Blogger service starting back in 2003, before it was even popular. That’s before I found WordPress and became a 100% advocate of their open-source platform and content management system. So when you’re reading these opinions, rest assured it’s from someone familiar with the complete Blogger experience.
